Hi, Andrew Thompson here. I am a teacher at Stoke School and work with the genius cafe team. Today we are meeting at Broadgreen Intermediate with this years group of Genius Cafe students. At the table with me are Saphire, Connor and Zane. They are writing posts for this blog. we are all using iPads to do this.

I'm Connor class leader of room 5 at broad green intermediate.i got selected by MrLuke in the e-learning module at broad green intermediate. He picked me and my friend Sam for being good at this module including movie making. Then at the end of the module, mr Luke said to come back when the first broad green genius cafe meeting was on. So we went back when the first meeting was taking place and he said me made the cut for genius cafe. So I'm blogging from the first full day practice day at broad green intermediate school on the 12th of August 2011.

G.Café goes national

We introduced the Genius Café at the Learning@School Conference in Rotorua today! A small group of keen learners from different schools participated in an interactive presentation to discover our version of teacher professional development/learning led by students. Hopefully they will take idea's and plans to develop their very own version of the Genius Café.

We feel privileged to have had the opportunity to share and hope the opportunity comes again.

We are also looking forward to developing the G.Café for 2011. At least a 2 day event, we will look at offering services to a wider group of teachers and learners throughout the Nelson and Tasman region. Maybe even beyond.....
